Tal Yahalom is a graduate student at the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy, where he is completing his Master of Public Policy with a focus on technology policy, public-sector strategy, and international affairs. He previously earned his BA in Public Policy, completing a capstone on the collapse of U.S. health diplomacy under USAID.

As a Google Public Policy Fellow at the Cato Institute, Tal worked on AI governance, intermediary liability, and the global implications of U.S. technology regulation. He previously interned at the Shriver Center on Poverty Law, contributing to legislative advocacy and research on juvenile justice and child welfare. He also brings experience in political strategy and civic engagement through fundraising work with The Frost Group and program leadership roles at the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics.

Tal aims to build a career at the intersection of technology policy and global affairs, with a particular interest in how governments navigate AI, digital regulation, and cross-border technology challenges.
