Rafael Olivares

Education: MA in Urban Education: Policy and Administration from Loyola Marymount University; BS Business with concentrations in Economics and Finance from NYU Leonard N. Stern School of Business, Minor in Computer Science from NYU College of Arts and Sciences

Recent projects include: MIT CoLab, CNE, Ayuda Legal PR, CFLeads, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, The Raben Group, Cambridge Community Foundation

Personal interests include: Biking, live music, consumer electronics, the digital economy, reading (big fan of fantasy books), traveling, and podcasts


Before joining Public Equity Group full time, Rafael was a Teach for America '19 Corps Member and a teacher in the Bay Area, where he taught 4th grade in a Spanish/English bilingual charter school. At the same time, he pursued an M.A. in Urban Education: Policy and Administration at Loyola Marymount. His research focused on the effects of student mobility on academic achievement as well as the teacher experiences during the 2020 Presidential Election. Prior to his work in education, Rafael worked for financial firms in their private wealth/asset management divisions and their consulting offices.

Rafael holds a B.S. in Business with concentrations in Economics and Finance and a minor in Computer Science from New York University's Stern School of Business and College of Arts and Sciences respectively.
