Ayuda provides legal, social, and language services to help vulnerable immigrants in our neighborhoods access justice and transform their lives. Since 1973, they have served more than 100,000 low-income immigrants throughout Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia. Ayuda’s expert and dedicated professionals help immigrants from anywhere in the world navigate the immigration and justice systems and access the social safety net. This comprehensive and welcoming approach breaks down barriers, helps those in need, and makes our communities stronger.
Canal Alliance
Canal Alliance is a nonprofit champion of immigrants who are challenged by a lack of resources and an unfamiliar environment.
Canal Alliance believes everyone has the right to achieve their dreams. Every day, they educate, empower, support, and partner with motivated immigrants to best meet all their unique needs—from putting food on the table, to becoming American citizens, to learning English, to graduating from college. Center for A New Economy
CNE is one of the most credible, influential and sought-after voices on Puerto Rico’s economy. Founded in 1998 as Puerto Rico’s first think tank, CNE has evolved into a powerful nonpartisan advocate on behalf of the island in policy circles as well as an important participant of diaspora and Latino groups in the US mainland.
CNE’s policy papers are regularly sought-out by officials in the US Congress, the US Treasury, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and the White House, intent on receiving balanced expertise and policy counsel on Puerto Rico and finding bipartisan options to the challenges faced by the island. Center for Urban Families
CFUF’s core mission is to strengthen urban communities and help fathers and families achieve stability and economic success.
Since its founding in 1999, CFUF has remained at the front-line of addressing some of Baltimore’s most pressing issues, including poverty, unemployment, father-absence, and family disintegration.
Community Housing Partnership
Community Housing Partnership is the only San Francisco nonprofit organization exclusively dedicated to providing permanent, supportive housing to formerly homeless individuals and families.
Community Housing Partnership pairs affordable housing with support services, employment preparation, job training, a transitional employment social enterprise, and community organizing activities. Together these services offer clients a direct pathway from homelessness to self-sufficiency. Community Housing Partnership utilizes safe, stable housing as a platform to deliver services to clients, which results in increased self-sufficiency. Community Housing Partnership owns, manages, or provides services at 13 buildings with over 1,000 units and has 222 units under development. Community Housing Partnership’s housing and services annually impact the lives of over 2,200 formerly homeless adults and children.

Community Works West’s programs help clients and their families access the inner power to work and live to their full potential. We use our insights on lasting change to keep people out of prison, advocate for a more humane justice system, and support healthy communities for all of us.

Emerald Cities Collaborative
Emerald Cities Collaborative (ECC) is a national nonprofit network of organizations working together to advance a sustainable environment while creating high-road — sustainable, just and inclusive — economies with opportunities for all.
ECC develops energy, green infrastructure and other sustainable development projects that not only contribute to the resilience of our metropolitan regions but also ensure an equity stake for low-income communities of color in the green economy. Espacios Abiertos (EA) is a non-profit, independent and non-partisan organization that since 2014 seeks to create and strengthen civic participation mechanisms so that people in Puerto Rico can directly influence the decisions that affect them.
EA promotes transparency and accountability in public assets because a more open society will also be a fairer and more equitable one.

First And Always Melanin (FAAM) is a grassroots community organizing and activist collective that came together to change the landscape for Black people in Bakersfield California.

GLIDE’s mission is to create a radically inclusive, just, and loving community mobilized to alleviate suffering and break the cycles of poverty and marginalization.
GSA Network
GSA Network is a national youth leadership organization that connects school-based Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) to each other and to community resources through peer support, leadership development, and training.
GSA Network supports young people in starting, strengthening, and sustaining GSAs and builds the capacity of GSAs to: (1) create safe environments in schools for students to support each other and learn about homophobia, transphobia, and other oppressions, (2) educate the school community about homophobia, transphobia, gender identity, and sexual orientation issues, and (3) fight discrimination, harassment, and violence in schools.
Jewish Vocational Service
Jewish Vocational Service transforms lives by helping people to build in-demand skills and make connections to find good jobs.
With 40+ years of experience, JVS knows how to help people find good jobs. We focus our programs on industries that are hiring and can offer career path jobs, such as healthcare, financial services, technology and trades. These Career Pathway programs are developed in partnership with Bay Area employers and give people in-demand skills, paid work experience and robust job search skills.
LEAD: An Initiative of Yale and Harvard Universities
The Council on African Studies partnered with the Institute for Research on African Women, Children and Culture (IRAWCC) to establish the Leadership Enterprise for African Development (LEAD).
Its goal is to contribute to the process of reform and revitalization in African countries by strengthening leadership and governance capacity in the public, business, and civil society sectors. LEAD looks to Africa for its leadership resources and will draw upon them to elucidate viable frameworks, models, and practices for effective governance. The institute engages Yale faculty and students with research opportunities, internships, and job placement possibilities throughout the continent.
Millennial Action Project
At the Millennial Action Project (MAP), their vision is to create a political environment where bipartisan cooperation is restored as our nation’s governing paradigm and our elected leaders work more closely together to address the challenges we face as a generation and as a nation.

The Community Innovators Lab (CoLab) is a center for planning and development within the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning (DUSP). CoLab supports the development and use of knowledge from excluded communities to deepen civic engagement, improve community practice, inform policy, mobilize community assets, and generate shared wealth.
CoLab believes that community knowledge can drive powerful innovation and can help make markets an arena for supporting social justice. New American Leaders
New American Leaders (NAL) is leading a movement for inclusive democracy by preparing first and second generation Americans to use their power and potential in elected office. NAL believes that our democracy is stronger when everyone is included and everyone participates. Unfortunately, our elected government, from City Council to Congress, does not reflect our country’s diverse population.
NAL is the only national, nonpartisan organization focused on bringing New Americans into the political process. They believe that when elected officials mirror the makeup of our nation, we achieve stronger communities, a more responsive government, and a robust democracy.
New Venture Fund
The New Venture Fund, a 501(c)(3) public charity, supports innovative and effective public interest projects. NVF was established in 2006 in response to demand from leading philanthropists for an efficient, cost-effective, and time-saving platform to launch and operate charitable projects. They execute a range of donor-driven public interest projects in conservation, global health, public policy, international development, education, disaster recovery, and the arts. In October 2018, EMCF announced it was entering the final stage of its limited-life strategy to invest all its assets within the next decade to leave a lasting impact on the lives of children and families living in poverty in the U.S.
The Foundation's staff and operations have since transitioned to Blue Meridian Partners, the collaborative philanthropic investment vehicle that EMCF incubated and in which it is a national General Partner. This independent organization is helping EMCF fulfill its commitments and perform necessary staff functions so the Foundation can complete its strategy efficiently and responsibly.
EMCF continues to exist as a private foundation with a small board overseeing the management and distribution of the Foundation's remaining assets as it pays out its final grants and finishes its work.

For almost 50 years, the Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children (DVAEYC) has championed high quality early care and education for children from birth to age 8 in southeastern Pennsylvania.

To accomplish this, we train early childhood professionals in best practice skills and career development. We coach early childhood education programs to meet higher standards of PA Keystone STARS and national accreditation. East Bay College Access Network
The East Bay College Access Network was founded in 2011 with the East Bay Consortium, Centro Legal de la Raza, the East Oakland Youth Development Center and the Marcus Foster Education Fund.
The four nonprofits created the Access Network to address the crisis of college access and opportunity for youth in Oakland. As a new collaborative, the four founders chose to dedicate their first project to increasing the number of Oakland Unified graduates who apply for and receive financial aid.
Education Through Music
Education Through Music (ETM) partners with inner-city schools to provide music as a core subject for all children, and utilizes music education as a catalyst to improve academic achievement, motivation for school, and self-confidence.
Education Through Music believes that every child deserves access to high-quality music education, taught by qualified and well-trained music teachers. Music should support learning in other key areas, including math, science, and language arts. Engaged parents and school communities are key to the success of students.
Larkin Street Youth Services
Larkin Street was founded in 1984 by a group of local business owners, church members, and neighbors who were concerned by the rising number of young people engaging in risky behaviors on the streets of San Francisco.
With 25 comprehensive youth service programs located throughout San Francisco in over 15 sites, Larkin Street Youth Services is now an internationally recognized model successfully integrating housing, education, employment, and health services to get homeless and at-risk kids off the streets. Larkin Street provides youth between the ages of 12 and 24 with the help they need to rebuild their lives. Each year, more than 4,000 youth walk through our doors seeking help. We give them a place where they can feel safe; rebuild their sense of self-respect, trust, and hope; learn school, life, and job skills; and find the confidence to build a future.
Memphis Music Initiative
MMI invests in youth development through transformative music engagement, creating equitable opportunities for black and brown youth in Memphis.
Memphis Public Library (System)
Memphis Public Library and Information Center (MPLIC) operates the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library and 15 branches in Memphis neighborhoods that serve 652,050 city residents. All together, MPLIC manages 531,218 square feet of library space.
Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative
The Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative (NECC) was established in 2014 as a strategic initiative of the Buffett Early Childhood Fund. NECC was designed to provide back office and consulting services for early childhood development and care centers and in March 2015, was awarded a $2.6 million federal Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership grant.
NECC uses a shared services model to maximize efficiency, strengthen business practices, and ultimately, raise the quality of early childhood education programs. Shared services is a collaborative business model that reduces costs and allows organizations to focus on their stakeholders. It is a well-known fact that the cost of doing business for childcare providers makes it very difficult to provide high-quality services while maintaining back office integrity.

The mission of the NYC Leadership Academy is to prepare and support visionary, passionate educators to become exceptional leaders. National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors
The National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD) represents the nation’s chief state health agency staff who have programmatic responsibility for administering HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis health care, prevention, education, and supportive service programs funded by state and federal governments.
NASTAD is dedicated to reducing the incidence of HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis infections in the U.S. and its territories, providing comprehensive, compassionate, and high-quality care to all persons living with HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis, and ensuring responsible public policies. NASTAD provides national leadership to achieve these goals, and to educate about and advocate for the necessary federal funding to achieve them, as well as to promote communication between state and local health departments and HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis care and treatment programs. NASTAD supports and encourages the use of applied scientific knowledge and input from affected communities to guide the development of effective policies and programs.
Nurse Family Partnership
Nurse-Family Partnership helps transform the lives of vulnerable first-time moms and their babies.
Through ongoing home visits from registered nurses, low-income, first-time moms receive the care and support they need to have a healthy pregnancy, provide responsible and competent care for their children, and become more economically self-sufficient. From pregnancy until the child turns two years old, Nurse-Family Partnership Nurse Home Visitors form a much-needed, trusting relationship with the first-time moms, instilling confidence and empowering them to achieve a better life for their children – and themselves. An evidence-based community health program, Nurse-Family Partnership’s outcomes include long-term family improvements in health, education, and economic self-sufficiency. By helping to break the cycle of poverty, we play an important role in helping to improve the lives of society’s most vulnerable members, build stronger communities, and leave a positive impact on this and future generations.
Peer Health Exchange
Peer Health Exchange’s mission is to give teenagers the knowledge and skills they need to make healthy decisions.
We do this by training college students to teach a comprehensive health curriculum in public high schools that lack health education. Our vision is that, one day, all teens will have the knowledge and skills they need to make healthy decisions.
San Francisco AIDS Foundation
Through education, advocacy, and direct services for prevention and care, we are confronting HIV in communities most vulnerable to the disease.
The mission of the foundation, established in 1982, is the radical reduction of new infections in San Francisco because we refuse to accept HIV as inevitable.
Washington, DC Department of Health
The HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, STD and TB Administration (HAHSTA) is the core District government agency to prevent HIV/AIDS, STDs, tuberculosis, and hepatitis; reduce transmission of the diseases; and provide care and treatment to persons with the diseases.
HAHSTA partners with health and community-based organizations to offer testing and counseling, prevention education and intervention, free condoms, medical support, free medication and insurance, housing, nutrition, personal care, emergency services, and direct services at its STD and TB clinics and more for residents of the District and the metropolitan region. HAHSTA administers the District’s budget for HIV/AIDS, STD, tuberculosis, and hepatitis programs, provides grants to service providers, monitors programs, and tracks the incidence of HIV, AIDS, STDs, tuberculosis, and hepatitis in the District of Columbia.
