MarrLa Ramos, is an operations and finance executive who has spent her entire career in the nonprofit sector — more than a decade building the infrastructure that lets mission-driven leaders lead. At Public Equity Group, she partners with executive leadership to design the tracking systems, workflows, and knowledge infrastructure that keep concurrent client and internal workstreams executing reliably.

Her operating experience spans the full nonprofit lifecycle — growth, steady state, and closure. As Managing Director of Operations and Finance at Great Oaks Legacy Charter School Network, she carried delegated authority across finance, IT, procurement, HR, safety, and facilities for a seven-campus network serving 2,300+ stakeholders, cutting operating costs 12% and audit findings 40% and authoring the 180-page playbook that standardized execution network-wide. At Hebrew Public, she built financial reporting and grants infrastructure from scratch, then led the organization through a complete wind-down — relocating 700 students and closing at 100% regulatory compliance.

MarrLa began her career in nonprofit development — at Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey, the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation, SEEDS, and Music Will — managing portfolios of hundreds of fundraising events annually and growing gala revenue by as much as 52%. That grounding in how nonprofits raise the money they spend still shapes how she approaches operations today.

A people-centered leader, MarrLa most recently directed 37+ staff and designed the performance structures that increased retention 15% and improved performance metrics 27%. A Newark, NJ native, she has spent her career in and around the communities that equity-driven organizations exist to serve. She holds a Master of Science in Management in Organizational Leadership from Thomas Edison State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Montclair State University.
